In 1913, R.L.V. Beauregard built a rowhouse in Kinley for him and his family, since he often needed to work there. When Beauregard served as mayor from 1916-1921, he used that house as a primary residence. In 1922, he sold the house to the state. The house was later occupied by William G. Wilson, Jr. and became the Mayor's residence until 1930. After that, it was the governor's residence until the 1980s.
