There were also 16 hurricanes including two typhoon, Typhoon Mabel, and Typhoon Alissa, which became a category 4 major hurricane; 6 of those remained as hurricanes, of which 4 made landfall. There were 11 major hurricanes, which 6 of them made landfall.
