One year before Maria met Sarah Jane Smith she lived together with her parents, Alan and Chrissie Jackson, in a house. Maria loved the house and her school. Chrissie however thought that Maria's school wasn't a good school. She didn't approve of Maria's friends. According to Chrissie they were holding Maria back.
