Glenda McKay (born 2nd February 1971 in Leeds, Yorkshire) played Rachel Hughes in Emmerdale between 1988 and 1999 when the character was killed off. Her brother Craig McKay was also a regular in Emmerdale, playing the role of Rachel's brother Mark Hughes between 1988 and 1994, when the character was one of the four victims of the plane crash. Since leaving Emmerdale, Glenda has made very few screen appearances, only appearing in Coronation Street, Doctors, The Royal and Eternal Law. She has also gone on to become a teacher in West Yorkshire.
