Galactic Industries was founded in 896 ABY as a conglomeration of Galactic companies (Galactic Shipyards, Galactic Transportation Industries and Galactic Arms Company) all of which were owned by Alex Zakkan in 896 ABY, who incorporated all three companies to form Galactic Industries, which was meant to make it easier to manage the different companies.
