The Melbourne Chess Club is a chess club based in Fitzroy, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Founded in 1866, it is one of the world's oldest continuously running chess clubs. As of 2006, it also holds the distinction of being the only chess club in Australia to own its own premises. The club is affiliated with Victoria's governing body for chess, Chess Victoria.
