The workhorse of the Laro Navy, the Rampart-class Destroyer is designed strictly for defense and support. The Phalanx Star Destroyers may be the most impressive ships in Laro, but the Ramparts are the most numerous. With their slow speed, the Ramparts are helpless when it comes to chasing down enemy ships and must rely on faster Laro vessels to prevent the quarry from escaping the bite of their guns. For this reason, Ramparts are either assigned to guard duty or as support units in fleets. It’s rare to see a Rampart by itself in deep space, but this by no means makes it any less dangerous.
