Fundaments , also known as Basic Skill, is a command ability from Final Fantasy Tactics used by the Squire. Fundaments are useful in the beginning in the game, offering some abilities that can get a character out of a tough spot. Once the first chapter is over, these skills largely lose their usefulness, apart from Focus. Ramza and Delita have the command ability Mettle (Guts in the PS version) instead. This functions the same way, except they get several more abilities, increasing its usefulness.
