Construction of the park began in 1984 when John Arnold, the park's Chief Engineer, began working with InGen. The Jurassic Park Project was set to be ready to open in September, 1990, with the other attractions opening within the next six months. Construction on two more Jurassic Park's would begin in early 1990, on an Island in the Azores, and on an Island near Guam. The majority of the construction would be conducted by InGen Construction, a side branch of Internation Genetic Technologies, Inc.
