Lieutenant Poll is the leader of the Goblins in the hit squad sent by Briar Cudgeon to kill Artemis Fowl, Holly Short, Butler, and Julius Root. He is only in book 2. The other members are Aymon, D'Nall, and Lieutenant Nyle. He dies when he strays too close to a falling ice chunk. The other members of the hit squad discuss the hole right through him.
