In 2003, the U.K. Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) launched Operation Motorman, an investigation into alleged breaches of the Data Protection Act 1998 by the British press. The report that followed the investigation, What Price Privacy: The Unlawful Trade in Confidential Personal Information, was published on May 10, 2006.
