Bret Clark (born February 24, 1961 in Nebraska City, Nebraska) is a former professional American football player who played safety for three seasons for the Atlanta Falcons. In 1985, Clark signed a contract with the USFL's Tampa Bay Bandits and played 7 games with the team during the league's final season. When the league ceased operations, Clark sued the Bandits for back pay and won a lien against the team for $159,980. A court ordered that the franchise's remaining assets - including everything from weight-lifting equipment to office furniture to uniforms to memorabilia from the team store - be confiscated to pay the debt, effectively folding the franchise.
