Ryozo Munakata is a male character in Fatal Frame and Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly. He is also mentioned in Fatal Frame III: The Tormented. He is a famous folklorist who wrote a book concerning the rituals of the Himuro Mansion, which inspired Junsei Takamine to work on his latest novel. Before he became a folklorist in his own right, he was an apprentice to the folklorist Seijiro Makabe, who was a close friend of Dr. Kunihiko Asou, the creator of the Camera Obscura.
