Law & Order: Legacies is an American police produceral and legal drama created by Dick Wolf as a spin-off of Law & Order. The series focuses on the fictional Legacies unit in the New York City Police Department as they investigate sexual based crimes, crimes against children, hate crimes, cold cases, serial killers, and later in the series cyber crimes. The series premiered on October 2, 1996 and ended on May 16, 2008.
