RSY is a simple boot sector virus. On hard drives, it infects the DOS Boot Record (DBR) instead of the Master Boot Record. RSY randomly overwrites data on the hard drive. It takes its name from some text found on an infected boot sector, "R.SY". The virus has also gone by the names Alcon, Kendesm, Ken&Desmond and Ether.
