The Gypifrage is a Bird Wyvern that mostly inhabits mountainous areas, searching for prey. Their aggressive nature and large population can be a cause for concern for hunters and travelers alike. Their large, scythe-like claws can easily pierce through weaker armor. The Gypifrage makes its first appearance in Monster Hunter: Wyvern Instincts.
