Electra herself remained at Mycenae. When Orestes returned with their cousin Pylades, the three plotted to kill Clytaemnestra and her lover. After they had avenged Agamemnon, Orestes was pursued by the Erinyes, though Electra wasn't. Orestes was finally pardoned by the gods and Electra married Pylades.
