The Akuryō Clan is a small clan that lives in the Soul Society. Though it isn't known to the public when the clan was first founded they summoned a Diabolus and forged a Faustian Bargain with it to grant them and their descendants demonic powers. The actual terms of the contract are unknown to all but the Clan Leader, however it involves a series of strange rituals. As a result of these rituals as well as the clans tendency to give rise to criminals they are ostracized by most of the Soul Society.
