Arval was a gambler who was known to cheat countryfolk fool enough to play against him out of their money. He played against Clara Goodwin while she and Rebakah Cooper were travelling in the Green Mist to Port Caynn. He used to trick of losing to her at first and then trying to win even more back, couldn't do this, however, because Goodwin noticed his dicer's calluses on his fingers and "pleaded an errand of nature" after she had won a considerable sum from him. He only appears as a minor character in Bloodhound.
