The Pit was the name attributed to an abandoned tunnel offshoot on the Imperial Correctional Facility, which was located on the planet Kessel. It was near the slave quarters, and was converted by the trustee Moruth Doole into a solitary confinement cell by installing a durasteel door. When Doole had the Wookiee prisoner Gyylghrard beaten by his guards, the injured Wookiee was thrown into the Pit for almost a week without any food or spare oxygen for his breather equipment.
