Fricandeau stew was a type of stew from Earth that included specially prepared veal (meat of a cow calf) and root vegetables. Miles O'Brien was fond of fricandeau stew but his wife, Keiko, was not. When O'Brien was replaced by a replicant in 2370 and his identity was uncertain, Keiko made the stew for him, along with endive salad and sweet flan for dessert. He became suspicious, given that Keiko willingly fixed a meal she did not like and proceeded not to eat any of it. She stared intently at him, and he, becoming suspicious, claimed he wasn't hungry.
