With a fair amount of classical training in her background, singer and dancer Janice Whitby broke into the business being cast as one of Dean Martin's Golddiggers for two seasons. Whitby then landed a small role in Mel Brooks' "Blazing Saddles" as a tour guide. Her biggest and possibly most memorable role however was playing Katy, Doctor Franklin's fembot assistant and operative. Since then Whitby co-starred with another fembot alumnus, Nancy Bleier in the film, "The Happy Hooker Goes to Washington."
