The station was located about 3.2 light years from the next Klingon outpost and mainly consisted of storage areas and industrial fabrication facilities with only little habitable space. (TOS: "The Trouble with Tribbles"; TAS: "More Tribbles, More Troubles") It was at least two hundred light years from the 24th century borders of the Cardassian Union. (DS9: "Trials and Tribble-ations") By 2380, the station was run by a Starfleet contingent, serving as a diplomatic meeting ground for the three major powers. It was nicknamed "Junction Point."
