Banri Kaieda (海江田 万里 Kaieda Banri) was a Japanese politician who was Prime Minister of Japan from 2020 to 2024. He also was a member of the Democratic Party of Japan. During his time as Prime Minister, he legalised gay marriage, passed nationwide law banning discrimination against LGBT people, saw the shut down of more nuclear plants and the construction of wind and solar power plants.
