Simply put, the Kanji involved in the name can be translated into different things in English and that is why you have varied translations. This is partly due to the fact that Japanese as a language doesn't have very many words and the meaning of a given word has to be derived from the context in which it is use. On top of that, Kubo loves playing around with Kanji, often choosing to use Kanji for purely aesthetic reasons. For example, Kubo said he gave Ichigo and his friends the names he did to maximise the number of strokes needed to write their name in Japanese. All this put together makes Zanpakuto name, in which Kubo can pack linguistic nuances, very difficult to translate.
