James A. Cuthbertson Ltd. of Biggar in South Lanarkshire, Scotland was founded in 1936 by James Archibold Cuthbertson an engineer who built snowploughs and various specialist kit for the agriculture and forestry industries. The company created the Cuthbertson Tracked Land Rover for boggy Scottish forests and also invented the Cuthbertson Waterbuffalo forestry tractor. The company also had a had in building the Pluto pipeline used to support the D-Day landings in World WarII. Today the company builds snowploughs, gritspreaders, and airport support equipment, as well as custom fabrication works.
