The exception rule is a paradox that states the following; "For all rules, there is an exception." If presented as a rule, this creates the paradox "is there an exception to the exception rule?" It is arguable that if the exception rule were to have an exception, then it wouldn't be the definition of a rule (an absolute). One could believe that there is a "cardinal rule," and that the exception rule is the such rule, but by this logic, one of two things happens: * No rule is affected by the exception rule. * The exception rule is the only rule immune to itself.
