G.C. Spencer, born July 9, 1925 is a former NASCAR driver from Jonesboro, TN. Along with Elmo Langley, Spencer became the face of journeymen drivers during the sport's early days, making the most of what he had. Between 1958 and 1977, Spencer recorded 415 starts, but never a win. However, Spencer earned 55 top-fives, 138 top-tens and one pole. Finally, by the 1970's, Spencer's small team fell behind. Between 1972 and 1977, Spencer would only earn five top-tens. Finally, in 1977, Spencer made his last start, finishing 25th at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
