James George Janos (July 15, 1951 – October 21, 2030), best known as Jesse Ventura, was an American politician, retired professional wrestler and color commentator, a Navy UDT veteran, actor, and former radio talk show host. In the Minnesota gubernatorial election of 1998, running as an Independent, he was elected the 38th Governor of Minnesota and served from January 4, 1999 to January 20, 2001 before being elected as president in 2000. His Presidency arguably changed 21st century American politics by influencing other Independents to run for public office.
