Oliver Mayhew was a Grayson citizen and a member of the Mayhew Clan. Mayhew was the father of Jared Mayhew and an uncle of Protector Benjamin IX. Unlike other members of the ruling family, he refused to send his sons off-world to be "contaminated". Oliver was the Minister of Industry and the secret leader of the Brotherhood of Maccabeus, who was plotting for a forcefull reunification with Masada. When he died, he passed on his titles, including that of Maccabeus, to his son. (HH2)
