There are only four existing species of river dolphin, as the Chinese River Dolphin was adjudged to be extinct in 2006. The remaining four species are: * Ganges River Dolphin (or Susu), Platanista gangetica * Indus River Dolphin (or Bhulan), Platanista minor * Amazon River Dolphin (or Boto), Inia geoffrensis * La Plata Dolphin (or Franciscana), Pontoporia blainvillei
