Ukara Castle was a Crane stronghold. In the early 12th century its Lord was Doji Mikara. It became later a kyuden, Kyuden Ukara, and one of its known lords was Daidoji Hoji. A forest nearby had a portal to Gaki-do, which was trapped in the 4th century by the Asahina Daimyo Asahina Miroken.
