Plestorene was a type of technology used in the backup systems of J'naii shuttlecraft during the late-24th century. In 2368, while investigating the disappearance of a J'naii shuttlecraft, Soren explained to Commander William T. Riker that because their shuttle backup systems were plestorene based, the life support systems could function for up to ten days, allowing for the possibility that its crew may still be alive.
