To start the sidequest the player needs Choco, the game's chocobo. This is done as early as the party leaving Lindblum for the first time, and entering the Chocobo's Forest on the Mist Continent. They will meet a moogle named Mene and earn the ability to ride Choco. After this point the player can use Gysahl Greens, which can be bought from the forest or earned during the minigame, to call Choco when standing on chocobo tracks on the world map. The player can then enter the Chocobo's Forest while mounted on Choco to play the minigame.
