The Imperial Sector Rangers are the police force of the Galactic Empire. Whereas the Imperial Military does have the authority to arrest those who break Imperial law, they are more concerned with larger matters such as peacekeeping operations, combatting insurgencies, and outright warfare with enemy governments. The Sector Rangers, by contrast, are dedicated to stopping and catching more conventional criminals within Imperial space.
