The Escarpment is the three-hundred-foot-tall cliffs on the northern edge of the Southern Wastes, that separates the Wastes from middle Rathillien. Kothifir is on the top of the Escarpment, and Hurlen and the Cataracts are where the Silver River descends the Escarpment. The river and the escarpment then flow together to the South-East, forming the Western border of Nekrien.
