The gameplay for Ultimatum: No Heroes features similarity between Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter & other fighting games in a two-dimensional game system in a three-dimensional fahsion style. Each match in the game consist of 3 rounds (the player can change it up to his likes). The game movements consist also with a special power bar, that will active the Special Power Action movement, for example Spider Man's undestructible web shield while Captain America's power features a high increase in speed and damage. Other characters such as Deadpool will use weapons or other things the character has used during his or her comics.
