A protoss warband is a formation of protoss, usually lead by a Nerazim. They were used by the Nerazim in the Brood War and Second Great War to accomplish objectives away from the main force. After the unification of the Khalai and Nerazim, both forces and technologies were seen in warbands. Upon arriving on Shakuras, the Khalai Refugees were aided by a protoss warband after they were ambushed by the zerg. Later, Zeratul made use of a warband to slay the Second Overmind , and to discover the secrets behind the hybrid and Amon's return.
