In the 2370s decade, the Asama was part of the Third Fleet. On stardate 54637.3 (in the year 2377), the Asama participated in the Third Fleet in the Delta Quadrant as part of the Starfleet offensive against the Borg Collective. While travelling through System J-356, the fleet was ambushed by unknown vessels. At the conclusion of the battle the Asama survived but was derelict. A task force let by the USS Enterprise-E responded to the 3rd Fleet's distress call and recovered the Asama. (ST video game: Armada II mission: "The Cavalry")
