This is the person who, stationed aboard The Contessa of Vurms, first spotted the horrifying flying horde of monstrosities loosed by the fully recovered Castle Heterodyne, late in the protracted Siege of Mechanicsburg. This character could well be deceased, because he was serving in one of the Wulfenbach signal corps, and the reflection in his gyrostabilized binoculars shows two different monstrosities in close proximity to his airship, one of which [ promptly smashes in] [[Chronology - Volume #|✣ ]] on the next page.
