Previous - Japan goes after Chinese territory The Japanese Emperor decided that his nation couldn't survive if he continued the war in China. He announced that Japan would end its war in China and withdraw back to Manchuria and Korea. However, the Generals did not like the Emperor's decision. They began a coup d'etat and took control of the nation. The Emperor was outraged, and demanded that the Generals step down.
