While some kraken still slept deep within the earth, many travelled through secret ways to the sea, there finding a realm large enough to support their voracious appetites. Over the years, these kraken had grown larger still than their ancestors, though many diminished in mind as they grew in strength. Lacking their forebears' cunning, they relied on their tremendous size and physical power to overwhelm and destroy their prey.
