Solentshire was a county of England. In a holoprogram set in 1944, British radio transmitted weather reports where Devonshire, Hertfordshire, and Solentshire all reported rain. The whole report, however, also included an encrypted message from Allied High Command to the French Resistance cell of Sainte Claire. (VOY: "The Killing Game") The Star Trek Fact Files lists the name as Sonnenshire. In either case, the name doesn't correspond to a real world region in the UK. The Solent is a stretch of sea separating Hampshire from the Isle of Wight.
