The military coup of Pedro II of Brazil derailed Brazil from its path of greatness and from a future that could have brought much wealth and power to the nation as well as setting an example to the rest of South America on the path of dictatorships. But what if the coup had failed? This would ensure Brazilian hegemony of South America and if it took the right paths, the global arena.
