The Besh Ambush was the first official battle of the Horothrium War. In it, Nymean forces attacked a small Horothrium fleet outside their base on Redoubt Besh. It was believed that the Horothrium fleet was preparing to attack the redoubt, so fleet strategists decided to strike first since war had already been declared. Part of the Fifth Fleet was sent to attack the small group located at the edge of the Redoubt Besh system. The ambush went off without a problem and the Nymeans were able to inflict superior casualties on the Horothrium before they retreated.
