Pable is a small shrub that is found in Continental Europe, the British Isles, and North America. The root of the pable plant, when steeped in a solution of powdered unicorn horn and mercury, yields a viscous, translucent substance. This substance, pable extract, is fermented. Once fermented, it is highly poisonous and one of the critical ingredients in morticaine.
