It had a very strong Gift of Mindspeech. When a maddened Herald-Mage Vanyel took down Lord Rendan and his bandits, destroying his keep, Aroon sensed the use of magic and came to investigate. Finding Vanyel, Stefen and Yfandes, it lead them back to the caves of its clan, where they were invited to stay until Vanyel was healed. It later shared guard duty, watching over a grieving Stefen.
