She can be made playable by befriending and asking her to move in, or by marrying her. Jasmyn has the same facial structure as Marisa Bendett. According to her SimDNA in SimPE, her hair was red before it turned grey. Jasmyn's name is randomized when La Fiesta Tech is generated. The name "Prof. Jasmyn Carlson" is only referenced in the game files.
