A kickstop is a lag reduction method. While running, one can come to an immediate stop when suddenly holding/firing a bomb on the ground. Done in the air, it is related to the stalled landing, however there is obviously less control because downward motion can only be slowed, not stopped. More effective for agile ground robos.
