In 2011 Sturm, Ruger & Co. unveiled the Ruger Gunsite Scout, a bolt action rifle chambered for the .308 Winchester cartridge. The Gunsite Scout has been developed in conjunction with the Gunsite Training Centre to fulfill the role of a scout rifle as defined by former US marine Jeff Cooper.
